Today marked a bittersweet farewell to the sandy shores of Phuket as my dear friend Laurel and I embarked on our next adventure: Krabi, a haven of beaches and the enchanting island life. The journey from Phuket to Krabi was nothing short of magical; we hopped into a car that whisked us to the Ao Nam Mao pier and then boarded a long boat that transported us to our sanctuary.
Upon our arrival, we were greeted by a sight that stirred my inner child — our resort nestled amidst a lush jungle, with charming cottages perched alongside the ocean. It felt like discovering the treehouse I had always dreamt of as a child (thanks, Dad, for the inspiration…jk never had one as a child!).
Exploring our new abode and taking a leisurely stroll through Railay Beach, our home for the week, Laurel and I paused to witness the sunset. The beauty of this country, even more breathtaking than we had imagined, left us utterly speechless. Thailand's allure has a way of enchanting your soul and leaving you in awe.
With our stomachs rumbling, we decided to take a break from Thai cuisine and opted for a classic hamburger. To our amusement, what arrived was a "Krabi patty" that turned out to be more of a hearty meatloaf block! A culinary surprise, reminding us that travel is not just about discovering new places but also savoring unexpected moments and flavors. Note to self: meatloaf sandwiches are delightful, but when a craving for a hamburger strikes, patience is key. I suppose I'll have to wait until I'm back home to indulge in an In-N-Out burger.
Our journey in Krabi has only just begun, and I can't wait to share more of our escapades with you. Stay tuned for further tales of enchantment, laughter, and the wonders of this captivating paradise.
With gratitude and wanderlust,
XOXO, Marco Marquez
