my top 8
#3: my current obsessions and talking points
This is both a list and an invitation.
A list of 8 things I have been obsessing over, lately.
An invitation for you to check them out, and if you too are obsessed or want to talk about said obsessions, then let’s chat.
I hope you are well.
And thank you for being here, my dear friend.
Lost Lambs by Madeline Cline (novel)
If you love chaotic family dynamics, conspiracy theories, and a distorted view of religion….or if you just want to laugh from absurdity…this is for you.
Deep Cuts by Holly Brickley (novel)
This book single-handedly revamped my childhood desire to write for Rolling Stone magazine, but also, incredible conversation starter on music and its impact on our emotions…mainly processing them. + Great playlist + great POV on creating as an artist/writer.
Sara Smile by Daryl Hall & John Oates (song)
Industry, HBO (TV Series)
I’m not a finance bro, nor do I have any clue what’s fully going on in the workplace setting of this program. But it hits. It’s very sex, drugs, drama, young 20s wreaking havoc through life, but with money…and power grabs left and right. I’ve only gotten through two seasons, but I’m hooked as a former Skins UK lover, it scratches that itch.
Project Hail Mary (film)
Such a great book to screen adaptation that I had to write a whole piece about it.
Strangers: Belle Burden (memoir)
A memoir so impactful, I had to also write a whole piece about it.
Anniversary (film)
If you want to hit fast forward on the current status of the US and skip to the ending (but make it worst case scenario), watch this.
This Music May Contain Hope by RAYE
My album of the year, so far. This is one of the best start to finish albums, I’ve ever laid ears on.
What are some of your recent faves?
Want to chat any of these?
