In Italian, the word for grandmother is Nonna. Why do we call our grandmother, Nonni?
Because Nonni, is the word for grandparents, and let me tell you, she gives us more love than just one singular grandparent.
Nonni is a sassy, she is colorful, silly, and tells it like it is. (I get all that from her!)
She is the most matriarch, matriarch of our family.
She reigns supreme.
And in honor of her birthday…correction, her 87th birthday, which she calls her 78th birthday, insert wink here.
I wanted to sit down with her for a little bit and ask her some things that were on my mind.
Included but not limited to:
What day is it, and how old are you turning?
Goal of reaching 90s, outliving her late husband my Nonno who made it to 97
Dinner plans for her birthday
What was your favorite birthday?
The shock of a special birthday gift from my Nonno
The search for said gift
Reveal of another gift
Results of said search
Pre-dinner excitement
What is the secret to a good life?
More talks about food
What is the most important thing in your life?
Blowing out her candles
I know…all that in less than 10 minutes!
